We all have heard stories about teenagers and first year college students making ambitious pacts about always staying in touch, starting a business together, or traveling the world once a year, every year like an unbreakable tradition to be followed for years to come. Except for most of us, reality has other plans, and then life happens, scattering our little gangs of chaos and crazy across the multiverse of responsibilities, far ends of geographies, familial obligations and such. But what if I tell you, there was one group that through all the thick and thin, just decided to take the punches of life to the face, and as a unit. What kept them binded to each other you ask?
It was the love for travel, living, and exploration.
On the evening of September 2013, outside the lanes of common tutorials, there was a moment when the idea of creating a travel club took birth within the young minds of Chirag, Harsha, and Hari. They kept this drive alive while life had other plans for all three of them. Mohith, the fourth member of the gang also shared this passion and joined them in 2015, which for them, was just the sign enough to take that first leap and begin their adventure of traveling as a group.
The New year of 2016 marked the first trip to Nandi Hills in Bangalore, and then the next one to Horsley hills in Andhra Pradesh in 2017. One trip led to another, bus seats transitioned to bike seats, and voila, the fifth member Pramod, meets the group and instantly becomes the part of the pack.
The friendship grew stronger, and in August 2017, the gang took on the challenge of completing the longest road trip of reaching Gandikota on a bike. This was a humbling moment for the squad. ‘The traveler’s irony’ - you see all the good times and fun they had in the pictures, but to reach the destination, your endurance, will, and passion will be put to test. Needless to say, some hearts live for that adrenaline!
After this trip, having endured the pains of long bike rides and enjoying the sweet triumph of reaching the destination, the group decided to share their adventures, tell their stories through images and videos on social media. They knew that they now have the responsibility of encouraging and guiding the fellow travel enthusiasts on the trails that they have explored before. There was a sense of community and camaraderie that they wanted to share with others who are also looking for a brief escape from the shackles of reality and daily life. And this marked the genesis of “CHAMP” (which is an acronym including the first letter from the names of each of the members of the OG squad).
Today, we introduce you to CHAMP which has a strong presence on Instagram and Youtube with videos and travel content for enthusiasts containing detailed stories and videos of our explorations over the years. Among a myriad of exciting new developments, we are also working on integrating our brand with a clothing line to bring you proprietary CHAMP merch, so you can take a bit of us with you on your next adventure. As our friendship turns into brotherhood, we plan to spread positivity and healthy travel practices and experiences across the world. With seven years and counting, CHAMP will be here to back and protect all those friendship pact of young group of friends and will help them come through with their resolutions of traveling the world with their brothers.
